Silicone Cure Tower System
System incorporates twin infrared heaters mounted to a vertical tower design with driven, adjustable “V” groove capstan wheel. The control system provides precise speed and two zone heater control for silicone tubing. Lower heater provides a skin cure while the upper provides a penetrating heat before reaching the guide wheel.

The tower supports two infrared heaters and a precise guide wheel mounted on top of the tower. Silicone tube is routed through the heaters and over the capstan wheel to a small peel-off wheel then to a lower process wheel. The lower heater provides a skin cure to the tubing while the upper heater provides a continuing penetrating heat before the tubing reaches the guide wheel. Heaters are operated independently with their own power settings and are protected from overheating by monitoring the water flow rate through each heater and water exit temperature.

Power control is provided by the system PLC with access through the touch screen display. The master control system for the line provides the wheel speed and direction. The wheel speed (0-600 inches / min) is displayed on the operator touch screen located on the tower power panel.
